Pause · learn · take the next step

Community Reflection Materials

Community Reflection materials were prepared by the ATC in June 2026 to assist us during the July intensive period to reflect with our friends, families, and neighbours—to pause together, reflect on what has been learned, and consider what might come next.

Why we reflect

Learning in action, together

Reflection is how a community learns. When friends gather to look honestly and lovingly at the life of their neighbourhoods — celebrating what is growing and considering what could come next — insight turns into action, and action turns into experience we can learn from.

These materials are a companion for that conversation. They are for anyone: a family around a kitchen table, a group of neighbours, or friends serving side by side. There are no prerequisites — only a willingness to reflect and to take a next step, however small.

What the materials explore

Four steps of reflection

A gentle arc — from vision, to honest looking, to building, to arising together.

01

Our hopes and vision

A shared picture of the Ottawa we long for — neighbourhoods marked by unity, worship, learning, and service, where every soul can flourish.

02

Reflecting on our community

An honest, loving look at the life around us — the friendships forming, the activities underway, and the hopes and needs of our neighbourhoods.

03

Building vibrant communities

Considering how the core activities and groups of families can grow — so community life becomes richer, more welcoming, and more capable.

04

Surging forward

Choosing concrete next steps and arising together, with renewed energy and joy, toward the goals we have set for ourselves.
